The book is about an Indian boy, Ashkii, who likes to paint. But he keeps getting in trouble for the things he likes to paint because his grandfather says it is not the Navajo way. The lesson to be learned from the book is that someone's creativity should not be stopped.
My reaction and opinion is I really like the book because the drawings are great, and I like the character of the boy because he is a good artist. This is not like any other book I have read. My favorite part is the ending, But I can't give it away.
I would recommend this book because the drawings are so good.
