Ella is a sweet young lady with a dark secret. When she was born, many fairies gave her wonderous gifts such as love and beauty. However, that fool Lucinda gave her a gift that any girl would despise, the gift of obedience. So now Ella has to do anything anyone tells her, even if it means chopping off her own head! Will Ella survive, or will she become someone's personal slave? Read Ella Enchanted to find out.
My favorite part of the book is when Ella gets sent to finishing school. I like this part of the story because the author paints a colorful picture with words, especially when she describes the school. One character that I found interesting was Mandy because she was mystical and magical. This story reminds me of the time when I had a broken wrist, and people took advantage of me by swiping my belongings, like the character Hattie and Olive did to Ella.
I recommend reading Ella Enchanted to kids ten or older because the book has some violence and language that might not be appropriate for some younger children. I strongly suggest you read this magical book.
