This book is about a girl named Beth. She has a lot of spunk and attitude. She showed her spunk when Philip gave her the note that says she isn't pretty. Oh, and by the way she has a big crush on Philip. Well, she sometimes likes him and sometimes doesn't.
My favorite part of the story takes place at the race. Philip is missing. Beth knows that he is on the mountain because he said that he was "king of the mountain". She tries to tell everyone, but they are too busy looking in the lake. She climbs up the mountain and finds him hurt up against a rock. She helps him to a tractor and they drive it down the mountain to the picnic and surprised everyone. Through the story, Beth started to be nicer to everyone. Like, when she helped Philip get down the mountain. Through this whole story, I wanted to laugh out loud because of Beth's spunk and attitude.
I recommend this book to people who like competition because Philip and Beth are always racing and competing in a lot of things. This book will interest readers because Beth's always doing something to Philip or he's doing something to her.
