The Giving Tree

The boy in the story is very small in the beginning. He likes to climb the tree and hang from her branches. As time goess by the boy gets older but he keeps coming back to visit the tree. The tree gets sadder and sadder and sadder because the boy keeps asking for different things each time he visits. He asks for branches and his trunk and some other things too just so he can get money to buy things with. Finally he is an old man and all he really needed was a quiet place to rest. This made the tree very, very, very happy and they lived happily ever after.

I like this book because I like tree and being outside. I also sometimes just need a quiet place to rest. I also think the story shows that money isn't the most important thing and you shouldn't be so selfish.

This book was easy for me to read because I am in second grade. I think anyone in second grade would find this easy and fun to read. Anybody under second grade might have to have someone read this book to them.
