Little House on the Prairie

This story is about a family of five that have moved into the Indian Country to start a new life. Right away, the father, Ingalls, starts building a new house for the family. After Ingalls has built the house, he must go on a four-day travel to Independence for food and supplies. Later the girls, Laura and Mary, feel very sick and ache all over. Soon the whole family gets sick. Then, the family hears that the government is letting the Indians keep their territory! Will the family have to move and leave all their hard work behind? Read Little House on the Prairie to find out.
I think that most of the reader's attention will go to the part when Indians come and steal most of their food while Ingalls is out hunting. I think this because you are so terrified and excited of what is going to happen next. The thing that makes this book so special is all the things that happen in one year of living there. I liked Laura the most in the story, because she is mostly the main character and also so brave.
There are many illustrations. They are black and white, but they still describe a lot. I really like them, because if you don't really understand the story, you can look at the picture and you might be able to understand a little better.
My favorite part of the story was when Ingalls builds the house. That is my favorite part, because the author tells you step by step how the house is built. That chapter may be a little long, but I think that it's worth it.
I would recommend this book because as you read, you have a great image of the story in your head. I would recomand this book to a reader who enjoys adventure because Laura and Mary share many adventures together.
