Stone Fox

Grandfather is sick, and Little Willy doesn't know why. All he knows is he would do anything to help him. Little Willy thinks there may be a chance they may lose the farm unless he can raise some money, so he enters a dog sled race where he could win five hundred dollars. Little Willy is only 10 years old, and the race is really for grown ups, but Little Willy knows that his dog, Searchlight, can win that race. He also knows he will have to race against Stone Fox, the Indian who has never lost a race. You have to read this book to find out if Little Willy can beat Stone Fox and save the family farm and his grandfather.

This is a great, awesome book because it keeps you on the edge of your seat the whole time you are reading it! You are always wondering what is going to happen next and you just can't put it down! I loved the way the author wrote because I just wanted to keep reading to the end! The illustrations are black and white but gave me a good vision of what the characters of the story look like, especially Stone Fox himself.

I would recommend this book to 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders who like adventure. It's kinda long but because it's so interesting and keeps your attention it doesn't seem as long as it is. I just did not want this book to end and you won't either!
