The grandpa poured the jar of honey on the little girl?s book. Soon she?s going to read! In kindergarten some kids would learn to read. But not Trisha. Her brothers said she would read in first grade. When she was in fifth grade there was a new teacher, Mr. Falker. He was tall and elegant. Everybody loved his striped coat and silk gray pants. He wore the neatest clothes. He?s a help to Trisha because he and her reading teacher worked with her.
This book is similar to the other books Patricia Polocco wrote because she mostly writes about her life. Patricia Polocco is a great author she uses very intersting words and her details are great!
The lesson is it doesn?t matter how you read. Some are better than you and you are better than some. If you want to do something keep trying - never give up! My favorite part was when Patricia believed in herself. The book, in some parts, is serious.
This would be a good book for you if you have trouble with something, just keep on trying. If you have trouble reading, this would be a good book for you.
