Arthur is going to write a story for homework. He decides to write about getting a dog. His sister thinks he should write about elephants. His friend doesn?t think Arthur?s story is very interesting. Arthur gets a fantastic idea when his father says, ?Please pass the corn.?
The pictures are colorful. They look like they are made of watercolor paint. Because Arthur?s ears are on top of his head, instead of on the side, I don?t know how his glasses stay on. The pictures don?t show that. Mostly the pictures match the story. When Arthur says, ?Corn! That?s it!?, the picture shows Arthur?s arms flying up and a big smile on his face. My favorite picture is where the elephants are gray with purple stripes. Arthur is thinking about his story.
If you like Arthur Writes a Story, you should watch Arthur?s T.V. shows on PBS. This is the best book I have read.
