This book is about a kid named John Midas that REALLY likes chocolate. So one day he finds a candy shop with TONS of chocolate. So he buys a candy bar [but after he eats it he finds a secret that the candy bar made it so anything that touched his mouth turned into chocolate]. When he first finds out he has the chocolate touch, he sort of liked it at first, but he starts to have a craving for normal food so he has to break the chocolate touch spell. So now he knows that greed can cause problems sometimes.

I think the author's message was to not be greedy and selfish and greedy. I thought the book was funny because all sorts of things happened. My favorite part was when John first has the chocolate touch because he freaks out and stuff. I like the character John Midas because he got worried and did funny things. John reminds me of me because I probably would do the same thing. I thought the illustrations were REALLY funny.

I would recommend this book because its funny and all sorts of things happen. I think that people that like funny books should reed this book. The genre is fiction because that could never happen. The characters are John Midas, his mom and the shop owner. The setting was mostly school, the book made me feel happy because it was just funny.
