The main part that happens in this book is that Tommy gets a pair of chicken feet and scares his friends. Tommy goes to grandpa Tom's butcher shop and gets a chicken head. Tommy goes home and tries burying it and wants to see if it will make a chicken bush, but it doesn't work. Tommy goes back to grandpa Tom's butcher shop and gets a pair of chicken feet and uses them to scare his friends. By the end of the story, Tommy says to himself, "These toys aren't the best!"
This book reminded me of when I tried planting a flower in the winter time and it didn't work like Tommy tried planting a chicken bush. I was excited when Tommy was heading to school because I thought he would scare his friends!
I give this book three stars because it has really good pictures and good details and tells you what's going on. I recommend this book for grown-ups to read to their kids.
