The Nutcracker is a very enchanting story filled with fun and daring adventures. There are movies and live performances of The Nutcracker. The Nutcracker is about a young girl named Marie who receives a toy solider with a mouth cut from ear to ear for Christmas from her Godfather Drosselmier.
My favorite section of the story is when the nutcracker escorts Marie into his home, Marzipan Castle. Illustrator, Scott Gustafson, used deep and rich tones of color to help make the dream-like story come to life. With candy roads and gingerbread people, the story is set in a fantasy world with life-like people. Very beautiful and detailed illustrations were placed throughout the story. Even though the story is not included in any series it is a great and timeless holiday story.
I would recommend this story to any person. It is a wonderful bedtime story for a young child especially during the holiday season. Children and parents will be entertained by the dramatic story of The Nutcracker.
